My name is Uyen (pronounced ‘win’ like when you win a game), and I am the sassy-when-I-need-to-be founder of Sassy Girl Weddings & Events. I started this company in 2006 and since then, our team has produced hundreds of events from weddings, holiday parties & grand openings to birthday parties (for humans & for dogs – no joke), fashion shows & animal adoption events. Yes. Animal adoption events. One thing you should know about me is that I am a crazy dog lady & animal welfare advocate. The other thing is that I can talk about food & cocktails all day ‘er day. If you have a dog, I would love if you had him as your ring bearer. If you love food, let’s go eat & geek out over how to make the best pie crust. I am great at brainstorming creative dinner & cocktail menus. (Family-style dinner & hot donuts instead of cake? Yassss!) I like to have fun with my clients and that’s how we get through the stress of planning an important event. Let’s meet for happy hour and throw a party together! Is it ok if I bring my dogs?

Uyen is amazing. Like absolutely beyond incredible, fantastic, amazing. Because of her, the wedding of my dreams became a reality. My husband and I came across Sassy Girl Weddings after a little bit of searching reviews online and we knew we had to have her. After a short meeting over coffee, the deal was sealed. We had over a year until our wedding, but we began planning almost immediately. From the get-go, Uyen was unbelievably fast to respond (when does this girl sleep?!) -- literally responding to emails within minutes. Not only is she incredibly responsive, she's super sweet and so easy to work with. She has a huge network of vendors and general advice, which was much needed through the process. My parents became involved in the wedding planning pretty early on, which was stressful to say the least. Uyen was able to navigate through the stress of dealing with me, my husband, and my parents like it was nothing. She is always calm, sweet, and friendly and so adorable. She is truly an incredible wedding planner and all around person! We chose all of our vendors (who happened to ALL BE AMAZING!) through suggestions of Uyen's. Now to the wedding day. This day would not have been possible without Uyen. Everything ran so smoothly; I literally didn't have to think about a thing (except for that whole getting married thing...). She provided us with a minute-by-minute agenda and made sure to keep everything on track. When things came up (like mud all over the front of my dress before the ceremony!), she resolved them as quickly as anyone could. The day ended up completely perfect and more beautiful than we could have ever expected. I don't know how to put into words how grateful we are to have found Uyen. All I can say is thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Uyen helped us design a day that we will remember forever. If you have any doubt about which wedding planner to choose, choose the Sassy Girl! You will not be sorry. I don't think there are enough words in any language to express the deep gratitude and affection I have for Uyen but I'll give it a try. From the moment my now husband and I first met her thirteen months before our wedding at a Coffee Bean in Torrance we knew we had our girl. She was funny and full of great ideas about the vision and budget of our wedding. We immediately hired her as our full time coordinator. Uyen is truly a consummate professional as well as being one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life. She's extremely organized and detail-oriented which coming from someone as perfectionist as myself says a lot. She always answered my emails, no matter how crazy they were or at what hour they were sent, in a timely manner. She really made me feel like I was her only client. She also has an amazing list of vendors so she's really able to match you with the ones who best suit you or the style of your wedding. Her relationship with these vendors is so incredible that in our case it translated into savings with our venue, dj and photo booth as well as some beautiful additional lighting inside our reception that was gratis! I could go on about many other instances of her finesse during the wedding planning process so let's just say she's a miracle worker and she'll have the answer to any questions or concerns you have. Uyen made my dream wedding come true. Everything came out perfectly which was no small feat considering we had one of the largest setups for a wedding she'd ever seen. The one small problem we had she dealt with so quickly, calmly and graciously that it became a mere hiccup. Our families and ourselves were inundated after the wedding with calls and emails about how it was the most beautiful and fun wedding people had ever been too. She gave me a Platinum Wedding on a more reasonable budget. If you're looking for a wedding planner please do yourself a favor and don't look any further - Uyen is your girl or as I like to call her "my angel" and she can be yours too. Huggs to you Uyen!

Hyo - Seven Degrees Wedding

Sassy Girl Weddings & Events is simply the BEST wedding planning crew that any bride can ever have for their big day!!! I can't fully describe how detailed, intelligent, amazing, focused, and organized Uyen and her team is! I seriously would have been so lost without Uyen. She was the one who handled most of the logistics and planning, reminding me of many details that I wouldn't have gotten to. And the entire time, her professionalism was always so impressive. She was ALWAYS prompt with her emails and was so thorough with giving me all the information I needed. What's great about Uyen is that she was very honest with her opinions and guided me through each decision step by step. Also, I think it helped that she had many vendors that she had past experience working with - so when it came to planning, meeting and ultimately to the big wedding day, all the details worked out smoothly and I can't say anything really went wrong with my day. And when there were times I felt flustered or stressed out, Uyen always knew how to help me and took away so much stress, especially during those few weeks leading up to the craziness. Her price is VERY REASONABLE - try comparing it to other wedding planners and you will be convinced. You won't get better service and attentiveness than with Sassy Girl as your wedding planner!!!

There is seriously not enough paper to write about this woman. Uyen is truly a gem and if you hire her you will quickly see why. I jumped into planning a destination wedding in Los Angeles, CA all the way from New York, and had no idea what I was in for. Despite my love for weddings, I quickly realized I was in over my head, and knew I was going to need a lot of help. So I went on wedding wire and was amazed to see all of the glowing reviews about Sassy Girl Weddings & Events and this super duper Wedding Coordinator, Uyen. I'm confident I will not be the first or last to say this, but can honestly say that everything others before me had said was 100% true. In fact, our bond was so special that I cried when she saw me in my wedding dress on the big day. I actually started my journey with Uyen before I even got engaged. My boyfriend and I had been talking about getting married so I figured I might as well get started (Type A=ME)!! Well, Uyen was super patient with me... I even warned her about my situation, but that did not deter her efforts one bit. She continued to dream with me and give me different ideas on how to shape my vision. We stopped emailing for a bit while I nervously waited for the ring and two months later... he popped the question!! Uyen jumped right back in as if nothing had happened and we exchanged emails almost everyday from that moment until the wedding. She is the hardest working person you will ever meet. We exchanged thousands of emails (probably) and she LITERALLY answered them at all times of the day and sometimes even night. Whenever I contacted her she would immediately get back with me and never hesitated to roll up her sleeves to brainstorm with me. She is well connected and made the planning process and "day of" virtually flawless. She has great style and a warm loving heart. She is everything I wanted and more for my big day!! I seriously couldn't have done it without her!!

OMG! If you're looking for a wedding planner who's both awesome and super sweet....STOP! You need not to look any further because Uyen is your gal! I live in Houston, Texas and our wedding was southern California. Originally, I did not think I want a wedding planner because I thought it would be fun planning the wedding myself (I was naive).....Anyways, the venue that I wanted required a "day of coordinator" from their list and I happened to be one of those brides who google everyone. 😛 When I googled Uyen, I found such raving reviews so I thought I would give her a call. Wow, Where to start. Uyen planned my sister's wedding the year before and my sister Sara's review doesn't do Uyen justice. You can never fully understand the VALUE of a wedding planner until you have to plan a wedding. I had talked to many of my friends who used planners and they were all disappointed on some level. Uyen was off the charts. She responded at ALL hours of the night. I am pretty sure she doesn't sleep. EVER. She was able to take my ideas and translate them into a wedding day and make sure it all made sense. She got me. She got Chris. She understood that our personalities were different and executed a wedding that was exactly what Chris and I wanted. She has a great book of vendors that she has a repoir with and they are amazing. From money stand point, she is worth every penny. She made me feel like I was her only client. And then I see her posting pictures of other amazing weddings she planned and was like.. whoa! Out of all the purchases/services we made for our July reception, I can firmly say that Uyen's services are, hands down, not only the best purchase, but also the purchase that we couldn't have done without. I had contacted a handful of wedding planners before Uyen and was starting to feel that the whole wedding planning world was fake and impersonal. It wasn't until a friend suggested that I contact Uyen that I felt like the wedding world was all unicorns and warm rainbows. If you're a busy girl like me, trust me, you will thank me for using Uyen's services because she will save you hours of time that can be better spent elsewhere. We first met Uyen a year out from our wedding. We talked about our vision and she provided us a template to follow regarding our budgeting. Choosing our wedding planner was definitely a difficult process for our blended wedding of different cultures. Uyen made us comfortable from the start. She had all the traits we were looking for in a wedding planner. She is extremely organized which was helpful for us as we were planning with our longer engagement. Where do I even begin? I had the wedding of my dreams and I can confidently say that it was made possible by Sassy Girl Weddings & Events. Our experience with Uyen as our full-time wedding planner was nothing short of amazing. I was referred to Uyen through one of my friends, and even prior to meeting her, I knew we had chosen the best out there. She was not only personal and thorough with her emails prior to us hiring her, right away we could tell that she was extremely knowledgeable, open-minded, and honest. My family and friends had nothing but great things to say about their positive interactions with her and her team, along with just how amazing the wedding looked and felt.
